The Item Finder enables you to locate any individual Item by searching using various criteria. This can be done directly by entering details relating to the Item itself, or by entering the details of a related Job, Shipment or Location and Shipping information.
To access the Item Finder, click the drop down arrow next to Jobs on the left of the screen and select Item Finder.
When you have accessed the Item Finder screen, you can choose which search criteria you would like to use by selecting one of the tabs at the top of the screen. You can then enter the specific search details using the text boxes and dropdown menus provided. You can make a search based on more than one criterion at a time by simply navigating to another tab and entering more details before you click .
Available search criteria include:
When you have entered your search details, click and a list of matching Items will appear on the screen. You can then go to any Item in the search results – or its related Job or Shipment – by selecting it from the list, clicking Go To at the bottom right and selecting one of the options.
It’s possible that the search details you entered are too vague; for instance, searching for all the Items numbered 1. This can lead to the search taking a long time or timing out as it tries to populate the search results, especially if you have a large number of Items on your database. Try entering some more details to narrow down your search.
Similarly if your search terms are very specific try some vaguer criteria.
The Item Finder allows you to view any piece of information relating to an Item without leaving the screen. Click on Settings and chose to include or exclude columns. Go back to Results and the screen will be reconfigured.
